- (12/6/1890 Calw-5/3/1955 Munich) (Germany); aka pseudonym Retyl, Udor [for his erotica]Painter, lithographer, etcher, and author. Attended the Kunstgewerbeschule in Stuttgart and the Staatliche Akademie der bildenden Kunste in Karlsruhe. Said to be of a rebellious spirit, his work often addresses the subjects of depravity. At one time a Dadaist, he co-founded the Gruppe Rih and later in the 1920s was a founding member of the Rote Gruppe.
